The Merrell Eden Duo is better known as a 24 hour multi-sport event. We combine all the disciplines of endurance racing in a one day event. Athletes take part in pairs and in relay teams.

Why 4x4? If you own one then you already know the answer. If you don’t? Its time to tune into the Maxxis National 4x4 Challenge on SuperSport. Our next show took us to Wesvaal just outside Potch. Reaching our destination through crater-like potholes and rain storms required some 4x4 skill in itself, but it’s hard to compare to the adrenaline pumped antics of the competitors. Wesvaal was an action packed event. A joy for all the spectators who were treated to impossible skill, rolls and a Maxxis girl or two. Just to keep the blood pumping between events. From our side of the world these trips are never short. We spend more hours on the road than at the actual events, but this time things were a little easier on us thanks tot the Ruschenbaum mobile cinema. We had a change in pace when we went to video the National Motor X in Cape town in April. Lost of fast action and great riding from all. I got the best spot to shoot from not only did I have a gazebo over my head but also a unlimited supply of drinks from the party crowed.The show will be on Super Sport in May.

Pretoria Sandwani 2010
The 6th leg of the Maxxis National 4x4 challenge was held again at Sandwani Game lodge.
We left Port Elizabeth at 3am the morning to try and avoid getting at Sandwani late like last year. After a long night or early morning, Chris and Konrad was not much help in the car and slept most of the way... well that was when I eventually got them in and all the doors closed.
There is still lots of roadwork along the way and I must say that I CANT WAIT FOR ALL THE ROADWORKS TO BE COMPLETED. It is going to be a pleasure to drive on them when done.
Sandwani did not disappoint, for the event was great! Lots of spectators showed up again and lots of action. Watch the video clip!
On our way back we stopped at the “Slagtersnek” monument. Not a very impressive monument, but interesting history which many claim is one of the reasons for the “Great Trek”. More info about the events can be found @

Isuzu 4x4 Challenge 2010 – KirkwoodWow, what a day!! We arrived at Kirkwood bright and early around 7am and started unpacking the equipment for what would be a long, but eventful day.
50 vehicles was the cut off for entries at this years’ Kirkwood challenge and organizers raised the bar by creating challenging obstacles. Stretch, the Red Bull van also came all the way from Cape Town to keep our heads bobbing to cool tunes.
