Lets be honest...no one enjoys spending twelve hours in the car. The lack of leg room, the moan of the tyres against the road, the boredom.
It can drive anyone crazy. So if you do it you have to be pretty sure that the destination you are heading towards is worth it and for this event it certainly was. Once we arrived in Ryton, the boredom was quickly forgotten. To be replaced with the excitement of seeing BMW’s crumble under the weight of a LandRover or watching a SuperModified take a roll on one of the man-made obstacles or checking these guys fly over the tyre-pit or getting stuck in it. (both of which come with their own sense of satisfaction.)  With these things to keep the mind busy the 12 hours back home don’t seem so bad. If this is how MAXXIS starts 2011...the drive is a small price to pay.
